ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY CIRCLES
Environmental Study Circles originated with The Northwest Earth Institute, recognized as a national leader in developing innovative programs that empower individuals and organizations to protect the earth.
Small groups of 8-10 people meet for 8 sessions to discuss articles and questions focused on specific environmental topics, such as: Voluntary Simplicity, Choices for Sustainable Living, Exploring Deep Ecology, and Discovering a Sense of Place.
For more information, e-mail us at info@greendecade.org.

Opportunities.
Experienced members are needed to coach future groups.
- Voluntary
Simplicity:
There are countless practical benefits in moving toward simplicity. What steps can be taken to move toward a life simple in means, rich in ends? Topics include Living More with Less, Your Money or Your Life and Do You Have the Time?
- Choices
for Sustainable Living:
The goal of a sustainable society is popular, but difficult to define. How does the way our society functions affect the earth, and how can we be "a blessing to the planet"? Topics include Ecological Principles, Sustainable Communities and Visions of Sustainability.
- Exploring
Deep Ecology:
Human beings are one of many species, everything is interconnected, and sustainability should replace economic growth as our long-term goal. Topics include Spirituality and the Earth, Ecopsychology and Native American Wisdom.
- Discovering
A Sense of Place:
With a sense of place, your identity is defined--to a significant
extent--by the natural features of the place where you live.
Without a sense of place, what will fill the void? Topics include
Responsibility to Place, Knowing Your Bioregion
and Building Local Community.
