Green Awareness Day
F.A. Day Middle School -- March 4, 2010
- An event to increase the basic awareness of our planet and the effects of our daily activities, organized by teachers, students and parents, with exhibits, speakers and games.
Science Club for Girls
Reverse Science Fair (2008 & 2009)
- A science fair where adults present the science projects to the girls of the SCFG! We took our giant caterpillars, Magic Energy Bike and electric fruit experiments to show science in action.
Touch-A-Truck
- An event for kids of all ages, with all kinds of vehicles: police cruiser, ambulance, delivery truck, military, armored car, cherry pickers and more -- we brought a Prius and the Magic Energy Bike!

Green Fair & Trade Show at Temple Beth Avodah
- Green Decade joined others at to showcase the model green house from LDa Architects, the Magic Energy Bike, Recycled Obstacle Race Course and Magic Recycled Box plus the Caterpillar Club!
Go Green@Your Library Summer Reading Program
- Massachusetts' first green reading program! students to read and post book reviews on-line plus various earth friendly activities. In Newton:
- 96 children registered
- 393 hours of reading logged
- 147 book reviews posted
- 78 "green bucks" earned from Readers Reach Out Program
- $110 donated to Green Decade by the Newton Free Library!
- Sponsored by the Newton Free Library, MA Regional Library Systems, Boston Bruins, MA Board of Library Commissioners.
Tadpole Patrol
- Meet Kermit, the bullfrog tadpole and his many guppy and snail friends at the Green Decade Office! The Tadpole Patrol takes care of all of them with food and keeping their bowl clean -- we expect Kermit to turn into a frog around 2013..
