Board member since the early 1990s. Early activities included Transportation Day planning and tree planting for Earth Day. Member, High Performance Buildings Coalition.

Peter Smith, Co-Editor, Newsletter, High Performance Buildings Co-Chair
Founding board member and past President of GDC; also a member of Baseline and High Performance Buildings committees. Coordinated 2008 Environmental Business Solutions event with Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce. Has also moderated conferences on sustainability and many forums.

Ana Zarina Asuaje Solon, Energy Committee. President, 2006-2008
Board member since 2005. Coordinated Small Business Energy Initiative programs with businesses in Newton Highlands and West Newton, in cooperation with NSTAR's energy retrofits program. Chaired the 2006 "Greening the Garden City" 15th anniversary fundraiser. Also coordinated environmental program for elementary children at Mason Rice School. Also works with School Outreach, Energy, Public Affairs and ad hoc committees.
Jean Bartholomew, Membership Co-Chair, Fundraising Co-Chair
Green Decade Board member since 2007, Green Decade member since 2006. Major interest in residential and small business "greening." Also member of previous eco-team and volunteers at Farmers Market, Environmental Speaker Series and other special events.

Ann Berwick, At-Large
Board member since 2005. Undersecretary of Energy for the State of Massachusetts, Ann has been active in environmental issues for many years, including the Environmental Protection Division (MA Attorney General’s Office),  Mass Toxics Use Reduction Advisory Board, and Clean Air Committee of the Boston Bar Association.

Robbie Durschlag, Faith and the Environment Chair
Board member since June 2008. Directs the undergraduate and graduate nutrition programs at Boston University . Has served as a member of the Environment Group at Temple Emanuel, Newton since 2006 and is involved in the Family Table food pantry of the Boston Jewish Family and Children's Service.

Kevin Dutt, Strategic Planning Chair Chair, Public Affairs Co-Chair

Board Member since June of 2004. Serves on High Performance Building Coalition; contributes to the Energy Committee and chairs Citizens for Responsible Waste Management (CREW).

Paul Eldrenkamp, Kyoto Project Chair
Board Member since 2004. Also served as president of the Newton Historical Society and on the board of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association. Instructor and coordinator for “Insulating Your Historic Home” and other energy efficiency-related workshops/programs.

Laura Katleman-Prue, Fundraising Chair
Green Decade Board member since 2007, Green Decade member since 2007. Oversees the Green Decade Welcome Basket program; initiated Initiated and coordinated the Energy Conservation Essay Contest for Newton school students and families. Also initiated program of free showings of Al Gore's film, "An Inconvenient Truth" at the Newton Free Library.

Françoise LaMonica, Media Committee Co-Chair (New-TV)
GDC member since early 1990's; Board Member since 2000. Produces The Environmental Show on New-TV. Lifelong environmentalist.  Also volunteers at Farmers Market and annual GDC plant sale.
Lois Levin, Media Committee Co-Chair, Environment Page-Newton TAB, Transportation Committee Chair.
Board member since 2005. Coordinates monthly Environment Page of the Newton TAB. Has written numerous articles for the Newton TAB; also volunteers at Newton Farmers Market and other events. Initiated first annual BikeNewton event in May 2008.
Brooke Lipsitt, Public Affairs Co-Chair
Founding board member of GDC; past Clerk. Also served as President of Newton's Board of Aldermen 1998-2003. Longtime activist in many social justice issues. Also serves on High Performance Building Coalition.
Eric Olson, Energy Committee Chair
Board member since 2001. Active in Solar Home Tours and school energy exhibits, GDC's library display and as a frequent contributor to Newton TAB Environmental Page.
Dan Ruben, Household EcoTeam Program Chair, Low Carbon Diet Committee Chair
GDC Board member since 1996. Executive Director, Boston Green Tourism. Dan has coached more than 25 Household Ecoteams; also a board member of the Massachusetts Energy Consumers Alliance.
Heather Tausig, At-Large
Board member since 2005. Keynote speaker at GDC's January 2004 Environmental Speakers Series. Also on the High Performance Building Coalition and School Outreach Committee. She is responsible for the New England Aquarium's conservation-related activities.
Maeve Ward, GreenCAP Committee for Alternatives to Pesticides Co-Chair
Board member since 1993. Co-producer of GreenCAP's award winning video and co-host of GDC table at Newton Farmers Market. Contributing writer for the Newton TAB. Leadership of environmental programs for the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
Robert Warren, School Outreach Co-Chair
Green Decade Board member since 2007, Green Decade member since 2007. Newton public school parent; board member of Cabot After School Program. Immigration lawyer and longtime activist in many social justice issues. Member of Congregation Dorshei Tzedek in West Newton.

Green Decade Board member since 2007, Green Decade member since 2006. Environmental scientist and longtime activist in Climate Change issues as a member of MCAN and Boston Climate Action Network (BCAN). Communications manager for Environment Northeast. Freelance journalist on environmental issues.
